The Iron Banner is a limited time Crucible event. Unlike normal Crucible matches, the advantages of a Guardian's offense and defense ratings are turned on. It will become available in October 2014.
During the event, Lord Saladin appears in the Tower. His stock included new shaders,emblems, and high-end weapons and class armor, which can be purchased for Glimmer, given that the Guardian's Iron Banner rank is high enough. Xander 99-40's stock includes new Iron Banner bounties, which give points towards a Guardian's Iron Banner rank.
