Batman and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Crossover Announced
From ComicBook.com
DC Comics and IDW Publishing are teaming up for a six-issue miniseries kicking off in November starring two of their biggest superhero properties: Batman and the Heroes in a Half Shell. Sure, he's fought the crocodile monster living in the sewers and mutated Man-Bats, but can he team up with the Turtles from underground, too?
In the simply titled Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, jointly published by the two companies, the TMNT and their villain Shredder get transported to an alternate universe by General Krang. Here, in Gotham City, they meet Batman and clash with a series of his famous Rogue's Gallery while attempting to find their way home. James Tynion IV will write the series, with Freddie E. Williams II on art. TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman (and others) will provide variant covers.
This is probably the closest fans will get to a "Batman/Daredevil" crossover that was teased to no fruition a few years ago at various conventions. The TMNT originally started out as a parody of Daredevil, with their origin initially stemming from the same chemical that burned a young hero's eyes, then pouring into the sewer. Where Daredevil fought the ninja clan known as the Hand, the Turtles fought the Foot clan. Daredevil was trained by Stick, the Turtles trained by Splinter.
Tynion says that the book is "a fanboy dream come true," and loves looking at "the world of Batman through new eyes" in a press release. Stay tuned for more on this crossover as it approaches its November 2015 release.

Report: Affleck Will Write, Direct and Star in Stand-Alone 'Batman' Movie
From Complex.com
If you're not down with Batfleck, it's going to be a long ride, bat-fans. Deadline reports that Ben Affleck will co-write, direct and, of course, star in the next stand-alone Batman movie.
Affleck will reportedly team up with Geoff Johns, DC Comics' chief creative officer, to write the script. Johns is a DC legend at this point, having written for many of the company's premiere titles (Batman included) as well as writing for TV's Smallville, Arrow, The Flash and the new Supergirl.
The next Batman stand-alone film is a long ways off, though. First, Batfleck will make his debut in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice in early 2016 and will later appear in Justice League in 2017.
Affleck is also set to start production on his next directorial project this November, an adaptation of the Prohibition-era crime novel Live By Night, set in Tampa's Ybor City neighborhood.
Look for more Batman news to come out of Comic Con in San Diego this week, where Affleck is expected to make an appearance.
Norman Reedus Says The Walking Dead Season 6 Is Particularly Complicated
From ComicBook.com
Just when you thought things might get a little simpler on The Walking Dead... Wait... You probably never had that thought. And if you did, you were wrong.
The upcoming sixth season of AMC's hit series based on the Image comics series written and created by Robert Kirkman will apparently be, "particularly complicated," according to Norman Reedus who plays fan-favorite character, Daryl Dixon.
"There’s lots of action and lots of drama and lots of sadness like we always bring, but this season’s particularly complicated," Reedus told Nerdist. "The storylines are really interwoven with future and past. Certain things happen, and you’re kind of like, 'Wow, that just happened.' Then you’ll find out episodes later why that happened and what that meant. [Executive producer] Scott [Gimple]’s so good at planning for the future and taking little things and making them mean big things later. And you go, 'Oh, that’s what that means…' A real mature sort of storytelling has really taken us over right now. It’s super interesting and super thrilling."
So, The Walking Dead: Days of Future Past is certainly upon us in October. Showrunner Scott Gimple recently opened up about how the first half of season six will thicken the backstory with storytelling which could almost be considered a prequel. Pairing Gimple's words with Reedus' claim about the story becoming complicated sounds like a head scratching run of episodes is approaching.
As for what the first half of season six will explore in terms of backstory, it's likely Alexandria's roots, the Wolves, and perhaps the infamous Saviors from the comics. Not to mention, we have no idea what Morgan's journey has been like, not only on his march up the east coast but morally, which made him value all life.
We'll know more about The Walking Dead and it's sixth season this Friday after The Walking Dead takes over San Diego Comic Con's 6,500 seat Hall H. For more on that, stay tuned to ComicBook.com!

Roboy #1-6 Review | Roar Comics
By Bryan Jefferson
Megaman meets Street Fighter in the new comic published by Lion Forge Comics. It is written by Brandon Easton, directed by Carl Reed and art by Sendol Arts. By combining the boss skill mechanic of the Mega Man series with the aesthetic of a fighting game it gives an enjoyable, visually unique style the same way Scott Pilgrim vs the World did for movies. This allows it to have an exciting perspective on the battles without over doing the violence. It presents an engaging story presented with additional characteristics that aren’t necessarily needed but are greatly appreciated by the reader.
The story focuses on Aiden Cross and his best friend Madison. They are casually talking about school when they find themselves in the middle of a battle between their hero Bold Mighty and a giant pill bug robot known as 765. After seeing his idol tossed aside and blocking an attack against his friend, Aiden learns he isn’t a normal boy, which is where the story starts to take shape. He discovers that he is a cyborg that can obtain new abilities by obtaining Pyramoids that contain different data types. The most interesting being Micro-Mees that allow Aiden to transform into multiple smaller versions of himself while still retaining the same power as his larger self. Learning about this true origin and discovering his new abilities he believes he could be the next superhero, which attracts ire from the hero he once looked up to.
The most notable imagery of the series is the way the fights are presented like a fighting game. Whenever Aiden encounter an enemy there is a VS screen showing the names of the characters and a life bar. Throughout the fights the life bar will pop up showing damage received. Special moves are shown by name when used sand upon acquiring new Pyramoids, it displays a BONUS with the new ability. Each chapter is presented as a new level and each issue starts with an INSERT COIN panel and ends with an INSERT COIN TO CONTINUE panel which adds to the video game feel of the series. I’ll be saving my coins for the future of this series and am really looking forward to delving more into the world of Roboy.
Make sure to check out Lion Forge Comics and Roar Comics for more great comics like this one!

It was great to run into you. Haha! Again, it's pretty cool you're interested in my nonsense. I love chatting about cosplay and gaming, sharing tips and tricks, and all that jazz...
I mostly do game characters because that's what I'm most passionate about for sure. BioWare and Gearbox are my babies. Lol! They are also amazing to their fans. I normally do a new costume every few months or so. I don't get to attend as many conventions as I would like due to finances, but we normally get out to one also every few months or so! I think my next one will be PAX Prime, unless I can some how magically squeeze Gen Con in.
Here are some of my cosplays from Wizard World and also just a few of my favorites in. ;}
This is what I wore Saturday and it was thrown together in four days. My lovely gal pal and I both fell in love with Mad Max Fury Road, so thought doing this last minute was a fine idea. Weeeeee!!!! I'm dressed as Capable and she is the badass Furiosa! Her name is Fox Smith.
Photo by Toochie (he's my friend and doesn't have a page or anything and he hates the nickname Toochie, so imma roll with it.) Mwhahahaha...
I was Leliana from Dragon Age: Inquisition on Sunday. I've loved her since the first Dragon Age and was actually challenged by Allegra Clark (the voice of Josephine in Inquisition) to make her chainmaille ensemble, so I had to!
My favorite costume that I've done is my Demon Hunter from Diablo III. It was my first time using the thermoplastic worbla and also had the most rewarding end result. I won Best Female Hero with her at Wizard World STL last year.

Aaaand lastly, before this turns into a giant novel!!!! I entered a contest for Gearbox/2K and actually won for my character. I won a trip to PAX Prime last year and got to officially rep as Athena from Borderlands:The Pre-Sequel. It was pretty damn amazing and something I shall never forget. I made some amazing friends along the way!!! I also got to shoot with Darshelle Stevens, which was pretty insane.
Okay, I've rambled enough! Weeeeeeee!!!
I just wanted to take a brief moment to thank PippiStix! It was great meeting you and even better that you took the time to send us some of your cosplay's! Be on the look out for more PippiStix featured here at LivingTheNerdLife.com in the future we have some big things planned!
Thanks again! -Joe
